JBS is thrilled to announce that our hard working pupils have achieved the best set of GCSE results the school has seen in five years, with 60% of entries graded at C / 4 or above. At a time when many schools are experiencing a downward trend in performance due to the new tougher GCSE exams, JBS has once again posted another improved set of grades, this being the fourth straight year that results at JBS have gone up. Pupils who have enjoyed particular success include:
- Harriet Brown with 8 A*/A grades and two grade 9s
- Pragya Gurung with 7A*/A grades and one grade 9
- Jean Tizon with 8 A*/A grades and one grade 8
- Katie Henrich with 7 A*/A grades and one grade 8
- Max Green with 6A*/A grades, one grade 8 and three B grades
- Matt Powell with 5 A*/A grades, one grade 9 and three B grades
JBS Principal, Jason Tudor said: “I know I speak for the whole of JBS when I say I am delighted with how well our pupils have performed this year in their GCSE exams. In a period of national volatility where good results have reduced, I am proud that results at JBS have improved for the fourth consecutive year with 60% of all qualifications graded at C / 4 or higher.
These improved outcomes echo the fantastic A level results we reported last week and again provides more evidence that JBS is a school that is moving rapidly towards being outstanding.
Days like today are inspiring, as it rewards the hard work and dedication of both our staff and pupils. This is why both staff and pupils spent so many hours together during after school revision sessions on cold wet November evenings! I am so proud to work with such a talented group of people and look forward to ensuring that next year’s results are even better”.
