The John Bentley School

An Outstanding Centre For Learning

Welcome to The John Bentley School Library

The Library is located in a specially-designed building, at the heart of the school campus. It  provides a bright, spacious and welcoming environment for all students and staff.

The Library houses an impressive collection of over 12000 books and other items, and is also equipped with a suite of computers, for student and staff use.  We aim to cater for the whole school community, providing resources to support teaching and learning across the curriculum, as well as providing for the varied interests of all our users.  We aim to encourage reading for pleasure, and to support this, we have excellent selections of both the latest and classic fiction for all ages, a large non-fiction section and many quick reference books.

The Library has plenty of quiet study space, for individuals to work, and is also able to accommodate whole classes. The Library is open during lesson time for private study and class use. Students are encouraged to visit the Library during break and lunchtime, when it is open for quiet reading, exploration, homework, research, and just generally chilling out!  .  Mrs Morgan, our Librarian, will be happy to help in choosing great books to read.

The Library uses a modern computer issuing system, and students are able to manage their own accounts on-line, reserving or renewing books, or searching the Library catalogue, by clicking on the link below, and logging in with their school password.

The Library is open every school day from 8.30 am until 4pm.  If you need help in using the Library, finding information, or selecting books to read, please speak to our Librarian Mrs Morgan.
